Kathi et all, Jim Nichol indeed is correct. The radiator ornament on most Rolls-Royces is called Spirit of Ecstasy. If I remember well it was first introduced on the Silver Ghost model in 1906. It was designed by artists Charles S.Sykes, who also produced paintings that were displayed in the Rolls-Royce offices. Apart from the "Kneeling Lady" there are even more extraordinary radiator ornaments on RR cars, but for a proper discussion on that, you'd better join a RR group! Hermen Pol |
