For what it's worth, I've rebuilt mine:
1. disassemble the lower part of the frame by removing the vinyl covering and
used what was left of the original plywood to make a pattern. Once the new
plywood (don't remember what size I used but I think it was 1/8") I coated
it with West system epoxy.
2. Disected the vinyl covering to use as a template to make new ones.
3. Cleaned and painted the 2 metal support bars.
4. Removed the plexiglass windows from the frame. You will have to bend them
in the middle to get them out. Then I removed the old felt. It is glued
in place.
5. Went to the local hardware store and purchased new plexiglass or lexan
and had them rough cut the new pieces to size. Total cost < $15.
6. Sanded the al. frames with 250 wet & dry sandpaper to get the scratches
out. After most of the "bad" scratches were removed I move up to 400 and
600 sandpaper. Finally buffed the frames with red rouge on a buffing
wheel.
7. Bought some glue backed felt from a piece goods shop, put it in the frames,
reinstalled the windows, and reassembled the lower part of the frame.
