It sounds as though your clutch does not release completely or else you are rushing it. The is no synchronizing clutch on reverse gear. Try waiting a few seconds after depressing the clutch before you go for the gear. If it still grinds, try a clutch adustment. I am not familiar with your `87 but my `66 has an adjustable rod between the slave cylinder and the release fork. Perhaps someone can provide more detailed proceedures for your car. Don |
