I did much the same thing with a BSA engine. I took it apart during my college years and reassembled the pig about ten years later. I kept all of the engine's inner workings in coffee cans filled with oil. When the time came, they looked just like the day they were taken off- worn out and needing replacement. The bike must of liked the treatment because it always seemed to be covered with oil. Regards, Bill Eastman |
