Okay gang I have a question here Having finished the doors I have started
on the bonnet of the DHC. While measuring I noticed that the left side
bonnet was different from the right. The left side must have been replaced
some time in the past as the right side does have the proper engine number
stamped on it . The difference is in the louvers and height of the bonnet
at the louvers. It appears ( Hell it doesn't just appear it shouts ) that
someone folded the bottom edge of the bonnet up about a 1 1/2 inches to get
it to fit the fender. The louvers as well appear to be about 1 inch lower on
the left side. Note that the front half is original so the foldover tapers
to nothing about a foot from the leading edge of the bonnet. The bonnet fits
normally in all other respects. From this I would assume that it came off a
Morgan which had a much more pronounced "S: curve about half way down the
fender.
Of note is that being a DHC there are no louvers on top .
So can anyone shed some light on this apparent modification the factory
made to the fender and bonnet line ?

PS : this is all trivial because I'm going to use the this freak bonnet
since as Chuck Harris once said about miss matched wheel trim rings " Not
to worry, You can only see one half of t he car at a time "
