Extra information for those interested: the lights in the yellow car are the
same as the GT car for exactly the reasons below, and the car was used as a
pattern for the 1997 season car. The headlights are 911 and also MG RV8.

The yellow Plus 8 that Charles Morgan is currently using is chassis number
R11219, registration mark M850 KUY. Like all Works cars it acts as a mobile
test bed for new ideas.
This particular car had the rear sloping headlights in order to homogulate
the
Works Racer. It may also have been an experiment when the EEC Road Safety
boys wanted all new cars in the EEC to have a rear sloping bonnet line of
about 45 degrees to make things safer for pedestrians if they are hit head
on
by a car!!! Rumour is that Mercedes-Benz put a stop to that idea.
The car also features airbags, a new top fitment like an MGBs on the
windscreen top rail, and longer doors. All part of a major approval
application forthe car's spec to our Transport Department.
