Due to unexpected interest I will cc these details to the whole listing. I
am in no way involved with the said company and make no recomendations or
otherwise. In fact I feel quite strongly that this list not be used for any
one company's promotions. So for what its worth here it is.
The firm is Dellow Automotive Pty Ltd, Daisy Street Revesby,2212, NSW.
Australia. Phone 61 2 9774 4419.
They were extremely helpful when I enquired and should be able to sort
something out. The deal is they can provide everything you need including
clutch and pressure plate and a rebuilt gearbox if thats what you want.
They will need to know which Ford bellhousing you have (the position of the
starter motor and clutch mechanism seems to vary a bit). The company
exports kits all around the world. I noticed in England for instance that
the 5 speed conversion kits for a whole range of cars were from Dellows.
The cost would be less than the Sierra option I think.
In the end I decided to stick with my GT Cortina 4 speed. With the state of
tune of my engine, it does not run well below 3000rpm in any case, a 5th
gear although a nice thought may not have worked (the things we do for a
bit of horsepower).
Cheers
