Spelling: was Trip to Malvern

Fred,
It's been observed by persons far wiser than me (I?) that pronunciation and
spelling have little connection in many English place-names. Thus, Beaulieu
= "bYEWly," Chalmondeley = "Chumly."

Of course, I shouldn't comment: I'm from "Sampensisco."
