Rack & pinion Steering

Hey Moggers,
 last week I replaced the steering rack in my daily driver    MGBGT. 
While I had the old one out I layed it up in front of the Morgan and it 
would appear to be very easy fit. 
I know I once saw a picture of a flat rad with rack & pinion fitted but 
have never heard of anyone doing it. Anyone with experience in this area
