I had strange rev dependent noises that turned out to be the generator
bearings. Suggest you make a "stethoscope" and "listen" to different parts
of the engine and accessories. You may be able to locate the place where
your noise is coming from. A piecd of flexible tubing and a small funnel
makes a crude but effective stethoscope. BTW this is what your physician
uses to listen to your heart and lungs and whatever.

listen as you move the flexible end around and see if you can pinpoint the
location of the noise. Carefull watch your fingers!!!
