While you have it all apart, you might want to check the front and rear
faces of the bell-housing to make sure that they are parallel to
one-another. Sometimes an accident bends the housing (I know this is hard
to believe, but it is very true) and then the lack of parallelity causes a
problem with jackshaft alignment which causes a clutch wear problem which
necessitates frequent clutch rebuilding (5 times in one year in my case)
which produces in oneself a strong desire to push the car off a high cliff
and be done with it. All this can be fixed by making the bell housing faces
parallel (the best way is by a combination of grinding and shimming back to
the original factory specs (the factory or another list member should be
able to give you these).
I know these things from deep personal experience.
