Fred -

I checked my manual, and it recommends 90 weight transmission oil in my
Moss box (1971 Plus 8)... You might want to change the oil to a heavier
weight, as your 30 weight may not be up to the heat generated... I have had
no problems with mine, other than the gear-shift being a little warm...
Where does it say 30 weight? That just doesn't sound right to me...
