Last November a thread got started on the MG list about a LBC caravan
to Alaska. The result is we now have five cars (MGB, MGBGT, MGA, MGBV8
and a Morgan Plus 4) committed to a LBC tour to Alaska starting the
first week of June with a return home in mid July.
Our concept was, and still is, rather than one long slow caravan to have
several smaller caravans which coordinate departure, and rendezvous
locations, Each caravan would be made up of people with the same
traveling style so while one might be cover 300 mile per day another
might be a 500 mile a day group. Campers grouped with camper while the
Ritz-Carlton set travels together.
Since we do have a caravan now going for sure, we figured we'd post a
invitation to other lists on the chance some of you might be interested
in such an adventure.
Some points you might want to consider before jumping on the bandwagon:
figure at least two weeks plus how ever long it would take you to get
to and from Montana ( at that you would still be doing almost a turn
around).
Plan on some gravel roads , Although the Alaska Highway is now fully
paved sections are always under construction.
If you are up for a really fun tour drop me a line and I'll send you the
details.
