Location of serial number on Cortina 1500cc motor?

Good morning,

Can any of the Morgan folk tell me where to locate the serial number
on the Ford Cortina 1500cc engine block?   I've had no luck at all.

I'm not referring to the "cast" engine type, but the sequence number
stamped into the metal (if there is one... there may not be).
