I took ours to the local drive-line shop. They said that you have to remove
each ball from the
star by cutting the cage into several pieces with a small grinder. Once the
balls are out, the
star comes out of the stub axle. You then cut the star in half length wise,
being careful to not
damage the shaft or clip. If you cut it 90% thru, you can usually split it
with a chisel and
hammer. You will need a new star and cage for each axle. Our shop gave these
to us for free,
along with new boots and grease.
