Last year at USU the machine shop supervisor built a notcher that used special
grinding(sanding) belts maade for the purpose. The notcher had a cross-feed
vise that could be set precisely to any angle, and the front roller on the
sander was easy to remove and change for different sizes of tubes. You set the
angle, clamp your tube into the vise, and run it into the belt with the cross-
feed. Takes less than 20 seconds per tube, and makes perfect notches every
time.
