body panels, inboard braking

Can someone suggest a material for body panels?  Has anyone used fiberglass
and do you think its too heavy?  How were panels attached?

Can I attach an inboard disc brake on the CVT driven shaft before the final
output shaft?  I am guessing it would be better because of the torque reduction.
