Power seats, for chrissake! Remote entry and alarms systems! Keyless start=
ers! Not a one of them necessary. Each one a potential expensive repair dow=
n the road.
Our newest car is a 2001 Toyota Echo without a single one of these mod cons=
. 135K and hopefully will go much longer. I really do not want to be forced=
into a car with one of those key fob gadgets.
I do have a phone charger plugged into the cigar lighter socket in the MGB.

new driver at the time) had been driving a car with a collision avoidance s=
ystem, he might not have totaled the car when he ran into someone.=C2=A0 Th=
e car we got as a replacement system has collision avoidance, and the rest =
of the stuff that comes along with it.
My everyday car is ready to be replaced, and I agree about all the junk in =
the new cars that's not really needed.=C2=A0 I hate paying for stuff I don'=
t want and probably won't use, and I especially hate to pay to have someone=
fix it in a year or two when it stops working.=C2=A0 That being said, I al=
most took a car off my list because my cell phone doesn't fit in the built-=
in wireless charger.=C2=A0 First world problems, I guess.
