the MGA and MGB clutch assys are nearly identical. Sounds to me like the pr=
oblem is a worn throwout bearing.=20
Unfortunately, replacement requires removal of engine.=20

MGA must be different to MGB then. In that it's only the clutch cover sprin=
gs (that grip the friction plate between pressure plate and flywheel and so=
give drive) that push the release arm back and the push-rod and piston int=
o the slave cylinder as you release the pedal. Maybe someone has fitted a p=
ull-off spring to the release arm to protect the release bearing, or maybe =
the MGA has one anyway.=20
If it has suddenly gone very light, and grinds in all gears, then the relea=
se bearing or something associated with it has broken, and the engine will =
have to be separated from the gearbox.=20

As I push the pedal in and out there is no resistance and the slave moves i=
n and out freely. (I thought at first I lost hydraulics)=20
It grinds in every gear like the clutch hasn=E2=80=99t been pushed in.=20
