I never did find a fuel-filter in my fuel system, so I've just been using
gumout with every fill and hoping that fuel-starvation problem goes away.
I've
also switched to a filling-station that advertises "ethanol free" gas.
Now I am concerned about the flat and faded look of my red paint. I've got a
random-orbital polisher, but I've never bothered with waxing and polishing
before.
My understanding is that the car polish is to cut through and remove the
oxidised layer, and then I need to wax the car to make it shiny and protect
the newly-exposed paint. Am I on the right track?
