Hastings is a quality filter. The inverted filter should have an anti-drain
back feature to prevent the oil draining out of the filter when the engine
is not running. keeps the oil filter full.
This is usually seen as a red rubber ring under the "phone dial" holes of
the filter and acts as a one-way valve. Ron Sanborn

Subject: [Mgs] Hastings Oil Filter LF196 for '71 MGB ?
I see that the Hastings Oil Filter LF196 will fit a '71 MGB. But is it a
good
choice? (This is the inverted filter.)
