Oh boy, scary stuff.... Did a link actually break or just separate? I have used
straps in the past and have
found that an effective way to support the engine and trans.

Subject: [Mgs] watch your chains
Yesterday, while re-installing my engine, the chain broke. Fortunately, it
was in a position where no serious harm was done to the engine, the car, or
me.
Don't mess around with those things, or you might get to experience the same
slo-mo ('nooooooo!') experience as I.
