Only if the tach drops suddenly and completely while the engine is still 
spinning, *and* the ignition warning light is on, has power to the ignition 
system been lost.
If the tach drops but the warning light stays off then power is still being 
supplied to the ignition system and the problem is within the ignition LT 
system.
If the tach is still registering in accordance with engine rpms but there is 
no power then the problem is with the fuel as I said, but could also be in 
the HT or timing.
