[Mgs] MGA Transmission

Hi All,
 
I need to replace the transmission rear oil seal in the tailshaft  housing of 
my MGA and check that the drive shaft bushing is not excessively  worn.
 
My question: Is it possible to remove the tailshaft housing from the  
transmission without pulling the transmission from the car?
