I'm not sure if the Law of Non-Functional Attributes applies solely to British cars. I have a 1993 Volvo 240 whose front passenger window has worked off and on (mostly off) since we've owned it. First it was the switch, then it was a solenoid. One of these days, I'm going to open it upmyself.
