Engine and transmission/overdrive rebuilders near Long Island

It looks like I am going to have to start planning for a rebuild of my
engine, transmission and overdrive.  Does anyone have recommendations
for shops that do this kind of work?  I would prefer to deal with
someone on Long Island, but would go to Connecticut or New Jersey if
necessary.
