I have a tube of Girling Rubber Grease which I bought many years ago for
assembling brake calipers on MGAs and MGBs. Since this stuff is designed
to lubricate without damaging rubber, I have also used it for lubricating
the inner ends of radiator and heater hoses when I install new ones. I
just squeeze a small amount onto my finger and rub it inside the hoses-
makes the hose go on a lot easier. More importantly, should I need to
remove a hose later, I don't have to cut it off, or in pushing and pulling
and prying, possibly break the component it's attached to to get it off. I
can even reuse the hose if I wish to.
Question- since this product seems to be obsolete, is there a modern
version of this stuff?
