Isn't that "surprise backorder" stuff maddening? About a month ago,
I ordered some stuff, including a tonneau cover which was on sale, for
my B; from a well-regarded web-order place that you'd all recognize. A
week or so later all the little stuff arrived but no T cover. So I send
them an Email (he won't take phone calls) asking where the cover was.
The reply was that they'd only had a couple of them in stock to begin
with and they'd been sold before my order came in. Now they were sold
out and it would be 6 to 8 weeks before they'd have them in. BUT, for
only a few bucks more I could have the one from Robbins, they had plenty
of those! So I asked why they hadn't let me know. "Maybe your ISP
filtered us out", said they; never mind that the reply I was reading
came from the same Email address. Well gee, looks like I ordered the
bait. But, not going for the switch, I stayed with the original order.
Now I've found another source for the T cover, so I need to send yet
another Email to cancel the original. Such is life in the electronic
marketplace sometimes.
