..." Power door locks - or door locks at all are sort of superfluous on
a convertible, aren't they?"...
When I had my Spitfire a friend with an identical car had his roof
slashed - twice - just so a thief could nick his tax disk. From that
moment on I made a point of leaving my Spitfire unlocked: If someone
was going to break in to my car, I'd rather they used the door, so at
least I wouldn't need to get a new roof as well as whatever else they
nicked. Still didn't stop some minor vanalism to the roof one night the
car was parked in a street away from my house.
Richard & Sammy II (the snow has gone, but she's not running right, must
get those new jets and needles fitted...)
