Does it slip in OD only, normal drive only, or both? OD slip usually
happens in reverse or on the overrun, not drive. Also clutch slip is more
likely to happen in 4th first, progressively happening in lower gears as the
clutch wears further. OD slip is more likely to happen in the lowest gears
first. Different friction surfaces are used for each so it would be
surprising for both to fail at about the same time. In normal drive the
drive is through the locked one-way clutch, not the friction surfaces, so
slipping here would mean the one-way clutch has failed. Reluctance to
disengage (both mine are immediate) can be a sign of blocked fluid ports and
valves. Have you cleaned the filters? Changed the oil? It should be
engine oil of what ever is correct for your local climatic conditions,
although some recommend ATF. Personally I wouldn't use ATF long-term in the
gearbox, but it may help to shift any muck, but the filters should be
cleaned and the fluid replaced with engine oil afterwards.
