MGA starter cable

As part of my renovation of my '57 MGA (LHD), I'm replacing most of the dash
panel controls. When installing a new starter pull-cable, I find it is about
1 1/2 ft too long. Is this normal? It's a MOSS part, so I expect it's the
correct cable. I plan to just cut it to the proper length unless told
different.
