  You can also get at them from the boot.  To put the nuts in, I taped a 
small box end wrench to a piece of welding rod, put a bit of tape on the 
bottom of the box end so the nut wouldn't drop through.  I could line 
the nut up with the hole, looking from above and screw the post into it.
