after desmogging

Hi, List.

i was hoping for a little help on a 73 cbb roadster.

what is really noticable are two things that were not there before i removed
the smog equipment:

1.  lots of backfire upon deceleration
2.  when i come down an off ramp from the freeway and come to a stop the
engine stalls out.

can you recommend anything i can do?

i'm thinking advance the dizzy a bit?
