Mine goes along the side of the block and has the coil has described.  I
think the critical thing is the coil which reduces the amount of bending
stress at any one point as the engine rocks.  If you still have enough
length to form a coil *and* route it along the inner wing then fair enough,
but without the coil I'd leave it as originally.
