Aside from the subjective issue of appearance, there are the very real
differences of smaller gauges in a less readable position, the inconvenient
location of the choke knob, and the absence of a lockable glove box. And if
you've ever had the misfortune of trying to work behind a "pillow" dash, you
would really appreciate the steel variety in comparison...
I mean, Consumer Reports would be all over it just for ergonomic
considerations...of course, they would just plain flunk the steel dash on
safety alone, so why would we listen to them <g>.
