Don't underestimate the SUs.  My brother put a Webber on his midget and was 
disappointed with the results.  Twin SUs were far superior.

But, you neglected to tell us some info- which engine do you have in the 
Midget-is it a 1275? What is the size of the exhaust?  Adding bigger carbs 
won't do a thing if the exhaust is too small.
