I think the malls killed the _downtown_ department stores. I remember
that it was an all day expedition to go downtown to shop the various
department stores. I espeially remember being my mom's sherpa, lugging
all that stuff home on the bus. ;^) Gee, that was before we even _had_
MGBs to overload!
