Quote from David Vizard
Many top engine builders use only synthetic oils,
Mobil 1 being, it seems, the favorite.
In the early days, many performance Series "A" engine builders
were almost paranoid about oil temperatures. Based on the
sort of oils produced at the time, this was perhaps, justified. If oil
temperatures went just a shade to high, the engine's bearings would
disintegrate. It was in these sort of circumstances that
oil coolers became standard wear on any race series "A"
engine
Vizard writes quote
Synthetic oils have by comparison, an extremely high temperature
tolerance.
No where doe's he mention an increase in oil leaks from the use
of synthetic oil.
??? no need to 2nd guess i suppose just purchase mobil 1
and 50lb's of wet dry.
