Interesting Non LBC discussion, but I have come to the conclusion that we MG
owners (like other classic car enthusiast) are a totally different bred of
car owner. The MGB was just like the modern hybrid in terms of its mission.
It was an affordable, fun to drive sports cars. It sold because it worked.
When it quit working (competition, reliability and cease of production),
main stream people walked away, leaving the faithful and present company
behind. Paul is right; most people buy what works and ditch what doesn't.
We aren't most people. We own MGs for emotional reasons, not practical
reasons. So we are tainted....

Why else would I have a car that doesn't run, cost more money then my daily
driver and need a support group to boot!

Now to get back on track: What type of fuel economy are people getting in
their MGs right now and how much is a tank of gas costing?

"People like the whole idea of
driving it, and I have a feeling they'd be buying them
in droves even if it sucked, which it doesn't.

But down the road, it's not going to be successful
unless it works. And if it works, it'll sell no
matter what it looks like. Just like the Camry.
