Rick With respect to the vacuum cell on the distributor - is the connection to the vacuum line on (a) the distributor side of the diaphram or (b)on the side away from the diaphram. (a) indicates a vacuum retard setup, while (b) is a vacuum advance setup. I was trying to set up my (ex US) imported Midget with emmissions gear removed, and fitted with twin SU's from a Triumph Toledo without a great deal of success untill I discovered the 'odball' retard setup in the distributor.
