Shipping oversize from UK to US

Hello Listers,

Can anyone turn me on to the least expensive way to ship some parts from an
individual in the UK to the US?

The carton is oversize at 145 lbs. and combined length and girth of 151". It
is too big for UPS or parcel post. I have a quote from a freight forwarder,
but at US$600.00, it's about three times the value of the used parts inside.

Has anyone found a low cost freight solution? Thanks for any ideas.
