First, you can't generally shorten stock pushrods. You need the sort that
have the ends press fit rather than pinched or spot welded - after-market
pushrods.
Second, a clean-up of up to .015 or so doesn't really make much difference,
but if you are whacking .040" off, you'd better adjust the geometry.
