Barney
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but its been a bit
intense around here as of late.
The Patrol was started by Larry and Jeannie Martin several years ago.
It was then taken over by Ben Anderson, a local ( now retired)
attorney of somewhat legendary proportions in Nebraska. It was
originally a knife and fork society that was loosely based upon
surviving a common enemy-the British Automobile.
There are people in the club who own everything from Bugeye Sprites
to E-Types, with just about every MG from a '38 TB to an '80 Limited
Edition. We are recently organized as an MGB club under the NAMGBR
banner. The need for liability insurance was the primary reason for
organizing, and most members had MGB's and were members of the B
register, so that is where we went to organize.
We do several weekend tours, run one speed event with the local
Austin Healey Club at the North Omaha Airport. Otherwise, we meet
about 2 times per month-once for Ice Cream and once for Fish.
Currently Bill Evans is President, Bob Glow is Vice President and
Susan Marshall is Secretary/Treasurer. Her husband Marvin is Vice
President of the Flatwater Austin Healey Club. He owns the '65 B with
the Rallye package, and she owns the '59 Bugeye. Don't ask, such
things happen only in Nebraska.
Most, but not all, members are of the greasy hands variety. Anyone
traveling through Lincoln and/ or Omaha in I-70 who is in need of
assistance should feel free to call.
This is a quick and dirty version of the club's story. If you have
other questions please ask.

My British Car is NOT leaky - it's merely marking its territory.
