Dual fueled MG's are know for many decades overhere in the Netherlands.
The petrol (UK) - gas (USA) fueled engines can easily be converted to run on
LPG = Liquified Petrol Gas.
This gas which is a residue of normal gas production when being compressed
it can be contained in a separate LPG tank. The car still can run on normal
fuel as well when the LPG is used and the tank has become empty.
Some alterations are to be made around the carbs and the cylinder head must
be treated for a hotter burning temp. (hardened valve seatings etc.
The fuel itself is very clean and pretty cheap too. (40% of normal fuel)
Consumtion is about 15% higher.
As classic cars are not taxed overhere, it worthwhile to have the MG
converted, although the extra tank fills the car pretty much.
So most conbversions are seen in GT's.

An LPG conversion costs is estimated around US $ 2,200,00.

Cheers,

Hans
