Win 2k Outlook Express 6 Question

Sorry for the off topic question but I hope this is a quick one.

I am setting up a new machine and I can't get outlook express to save my email
password.  The check box is checked for save password but it is not keeping
it.  Can anyone tell me where the selection might be that is overriding it.  I
am able to save the dialup password so it seems to be an outlook express
setting not a windows setting.
