If you flip the plate brackets around the plate will tuck nicely against the airdam of a chrome bumper car. It isn't terribly visible but it is legal. I'm not going to jinx myself by telling you whether or not I have ever been ticketed for it but I have been driving with those plates on two Bs for 8 years.
