Technically speaking (yada, yada, yada), ....
If it is threaded all the way up it's a screw.
If it is threaded only part way up the shank it's a bolt.
If a screw has no head it's a set screw.
If a screw has a head it's a cap screw.
If a headless bolt is threaded on both ends it's a stud.
The part which a threaded fastener is screwed into is called a nut, even if
it is an odd shape, weighs hundreds of pounds and contains many threaded
holes. (That might start a new thread of its own).

The backing plate that comes with the domed air cleaner is used. Place the
plated backing plate against the carb body (with a gasket), and then
install the aluminum plate. Should be clear in this picture:
