This week has been pretty incredible.... I was in my office yesterday,
having some files migrated to a new laptop, and the IT support person was
handling about 25 other machines that were infected. I heard that we had
to shut down a server farm in Raleigh, NC, earlier this week for a day
because so many people were infected from the various virii and worms
floating around this week. Personally, I've been running LiveUpdate and my
Norton Anti-Virus twice a day on both my laptop and home computer this
week....
I wonder if a virus could ever get into a car's engine management
computer? Does anyone know if service computers are linked into a dealer's
network? Now THAT would be an interesting problem! Imagine if someone
wrote a virus that would (for example) crank up the boost to maximum for a
turbocharged car?! Thinking about this as I am looking at new cars to
replace my trusty '95 Jetta...
