Since most of the radios were manufactured by Motorola and Automatic Electric, and good shop can fix them if the problem is electrical. You need to get the right shop that is willing to work on the radio. If you are desperate you can look in Hemming's for shops that specialize in old radio repair, but expect to be charged for "specialty" work.
