Out of curiosity, do MG Overdrives have an automatic "kick down" when
the throttle is fully opened?
On the Ramblers I had with 3 on the tree and OD, when the throttle was
mashed to the floor, the OD disengaged. During this disengagement, the
ignition was momentarily cut off. How do I know? Because one day
several miles from home the engine of the V8 Ambassador started
missing. I deduced it was the kick down switch mounted next to the
throttle linkage. Pulling the plug, and locking out the OD got me home.
